"OPT CUT" PENDANT - 2004, Daniel Macchiarini
Gold and silver with "opt" cut rutilated quartz stone.
The stone in this pendant is a design invented by Peter Macchiarini in the 1950s, which he called an "opt" cut. It is shaped like a horse saddle with the outward top cut in a horizontal flat rectangular plane, and the underside having rectangular planes cut vertically.
